More and more, consumers are looking at labels, but not only at the nutritional information. Kosher symbols from organizations such as the Orthodox Union (OU) in the U.S. and the Kashruth Council of Canada are important to consumers of all creeds.

On average, only 50% of consumers who purchase Kosher products are Jewish. Non-Jewish purchasers of Kosher products often consider the symbol to represent cleanliness and high quality.
